Members and roles
The Members tab, under Workspace in the workspace settings, lists everyone in the workspace. Owners and admins use it to invite people, change roles, and remove members. You can search the list and filter it by role.
Roles
Each member has one workspace role.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything an admin can do, plus manage the subscription and delete the workspace. The owner cannot be removed and cannot leave the workspace. |
| Admin | Edit workspace settings, including the agent context, branding, and security. Invite, remove, and change the role of members. Manage member groups, data permissions, and row restrictions. View the audit log and billing details. Create embed API keys. Use every data connection in the workspace. |
| Member | View and work with the workspace's content. Which connections a member can query depends on data permissions, once any exist. |
Invite a member
- Click Invite Member.
- Enter the person's Email Address.
- Choose a Role: Member or Admin.
- Click Send Invitation.
Qubit emails the person a link to join. The invitation expires after 7 days. Someone without a Qubit account is taken to sign up, and an existing user is taken to sign in. They must use the email address the invitation was sent to.
Invitations that have not been accepted appear under Pending Invitations. To cancel one, click its Revoke invitation button.
If Invite Member is unavailable, your plan either does not include member invitations or the workspace has reached its member limit. Hover over the button to see which.
Change a member's role
- Click the Member actions button (three dots) on the member's row.
- Choose Make Admin or Make Member.
The owner's row has no actions menu.
Remove a member
- Click the Member actions button on the member's row.
- Choose Remove from Workspace.
- Review the Remove member? dialog and click Remove.
The member loses access to the workspace right away. Their group memberships, data permissions, row restriction assignments, and document permissions in this workspace are also removed, and the dialog shows how many of each. Inviting the person again later does not restore any of them.
Removing a member does not delete the dashboards, reports, or other content they created.
Review what a member can see
On plans that include advanced security, each row has a View access button. It opens the member's profile with their role, groups, data permissions, and the row restrictions that apply to them.
