Google BigQuery
Connect a BigQuery dataset by signing in with your Google account. Qubit copies the dataset's tables on a schedule. You do not need to create a service account or upload a key file.
Before you start
- Use a Google account that can read the dataset and run query jobs in its project, for example with the BigQuery Data Viewer and BigQuery Job User roles.
- Allow pop-ups for Qubit in your browser. Google's sign-in opens in a new tab.
Connect BigQuery
- Open Data Catalog from the sidebar, click Add Data, then choose Connect a database.
- On the New Data Source page, click BigQuery. It is under Databases.
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Next to Google BigQuery, click Connect. Sign in with Google in the new tab and approve access. The tab closes when you are done.
- In Dataset, choose the dataset to sync. The list shows every dataset your Google account can read, with its project.
- Choose a Sync Schedule. The default is Daily.
- Click Create.
After you connect
Qubit saves the connection, starts the first sync, and takes you to the Data Catalog, where the dataset's tables appear when the sync completes. Queries that Qubit runs during a sync count toward BigQuery usage in that project.
Each connection syncs one dataset. To sync another dataset, create another connection. To use a different Google account, open the connection's menu, choose Edit, and click Change account.
Troubleshooting
- If the sign-in tab closes before you finish, click Connect again and complete the Google sign-in.
- If your browser blocks the sign-in tab, allow pop-ups for Qubit and try again.
- If no datasets are offered, the Google account cannot read any BigQuery dataset. Grant it access in Google Cloud, then click Change account and sign in again.
