Editing a dashboard

To open the editor, open the dashboard, click the More actions menu, and choose Edit Dashboard. From the dashboards list, you can also click the menu at the end of a row and choose Edit.

The editor toolbar

  • Back arrow: returns to the dashboard view.
  • Name and description: click either one to change it. The change saves when you press Enter or click away.
  • Date range: the same date range control as in the dashboard view.
  • Filter icon: opens Filter Configuration, where you set up the dashboard's filters. See Filters and date ranges.
  • Add: choose Add Chart or Add metric. See Widget types.
  • Suggested widgets: a list of widgets the AI recommends for your data. Pick one to open the Chart Builder with that suggestion, or dismiss the ones you do not want.
  • Menu: switch between the Desktop and Mobile previews, and set the refresh schedule.
  • Share icon: opens the sharing window. See Sharing a dashboard.

Moving and resizing widgets

Drag a widget by its header bar to move it. Drag any edge or corner of a widget to resize it. The new position and size save as soon as you let go, so there is no separate save step for the layout.

Changing a widget

Each widget's header has these buttons:

  • Edit (pencil): opens the widget in the Chart Builder. Make your changes and click Update Chart. Qubit runs the widget's query again so the change shows right away.
  • Configure Chart Filters: sets up filters that apply only to this widget.
  • Duplicate chart: adds a copy of the widget.
  • Delete (trash can): removes the widget after you confirm.

Widgets added with Add metric also show a Linked label and a Detach from metric button.

Mobile preview

Choose Mobile from the editor menu to see how widgets stack on a phone screen. Choose Desktop to go back to the grid.

Refresh schedule

The refresh schedule sets how often Qubit runs every widget on the dashboard again. You find it in the editor menu and in the More actions menu of the dashboard view. The options are:

  • Refreshes hourly, Refreshes daily, Refreshes weekly, or Refreshes monthly
  • Manual, which refreshes only when you ask
  • Auto-refresh off

New dashboards start with Refreshes daily.
