My dashboard isn't loading

If a dashboard shows empty charts or error messages, the message on the chart usually tells you where to look.

1. Read the message on the chart

No data matches your filtersThe filters or date range exclude every row. Clear or widen them.
No data availableThe query ran but returned nothing. Check the date range and whether the source has data for that period.

This data could not be loaded right now. Try refreshing, or contact a workspace admin if it keeps happening. The query failed. Refresh the chart, then check the connection.
Could not load this widget. Use refresh to try again. The request failed. Refresh the chart.

2. Check the date range and filters

An empty chart often just means there's no data for the selected period. If the dashboard's date range covers only today and your data syncs once a day, the chart can be empty until the next sync.

Open the date range at the top of the dashboard and pick a wider range, or click Clear date range. When no range is set, the button reads Time range: all. Also check any dashboard filters and chart filters you've applied.

3. Refresh

Click the refresh icon (Refresh now) on a chart to reload it, or click Refresh in the dashboard's More actions menu to reload every chart.

Each dashboard also has a refresh schedule, such as Refreshes daily or Auto-refresh off. If the numbers look out of date, check that schedule.

4. Check the data connection

If several charts from the same source fail, the connection may be the problem.

  1. Open the Data Catalog.
  2. Find the connection and look at its Status.
  3. If it shows Failed, Test failed, or Reconnect needed, see A data connection is failing.

5. A column was renamed or removed

If a column a chart depends on was renamed or removed in the source, the chart's query fails.

  1. Open the dashboard's More actions menu and click Edit Dashboard.
  2. Edit the chart and choose its data again.
  3. Save the chart.

6. Charts are slow on large data

Charts that read a lot of rows can take a long time or fail. Narrow the date range or add a filter to reduce the data each chart reads. For a lasting fix, ask your database administrator to optimize the underlying tables.

If none of this helps, contact support with the dashboard's link and a screenshot of the message.
