Datadog

Connect Datadog with an API key and an application key. Qubit syncs data from your Datadog organization on a schedule.

Before you start

  • In Datadog, open Organization Settings, then API Keys, and copy an API key.
  • In Organization Settings, open Application Keys and create or copy an application key. This is a different key from the API key.

Connect Datadog

  1. Open Data Catalog from the sidebar, click Add Data, then choose Connect a database.
  2. On the New Data Source page, click Datadog. It is under SaaS Apps.
  3. Enter a Connection Name.
  4. Fill in the fields:
    • API Key: from API Keys.
    • Application Key: from Application Keys.
    • Start Date: required. Data is synced from this date.
  5. Choose a Sync Schedule. The default is Daily.
  6. Click Create.

After you connect

Qubit checks that the required fields are filled in, saves the connection, and starts the first sync. It confirms that the keys work during that sync.

Some Datadog data depends on features your organization has, such as Teams or log indexes. Qubit syncs each kind of data separately, so a feature you do not have leaves that data out without failing the whole sync. The Data Catalog may then show Some tables did not sync.

To check the connection at any time, open its menu in the Data Catalog and choose Test connection. If Last sync shows Failed, hover over it to see the reason, correct the details with Edit, then choose Sync now.
