What the Assistant does
The assistant is an AI analyst built into Qubit. You ask it questions in plain language, and it queries your connected data and explains the answer. It can also create and update items in your workspace for you.
Answering questions about your data
You can ask about any data source in your workspace that you have access to. The assistant reads your table and column descriptions, your semantic model, and your metric definitions, so it can use your company's own definitions of numbers like revenue or active customers.
Examples:
- "What was our revenue by region last month?"
- "Show me the trend of new customers over the last 90 days."
- "Compare this month with last month and explain the biggest changes."
The assistant answers with text and, when it helps, a chart or a table. When an answer comes from a query, you can open the query it ran. It can also use documents you've added to the Data Catalog, files you attach to the conversation, and web search, and it shows the sources it used.
Creating and updating items
The assistant can work in the platform on your behalf:
- Dashboards: create a dashboard, rename it, rename its charts, and rearrange them.
- Reports: request a new report and edit the slides of an existing one.
- Metrics and the semantic model: define and update metrics, entities, and relationships.
- Scheduled tasks: draft a task and edit tasks that aren't active.
- Insights: refresh the workspace's insights and dismiss ones you no longer need.
- Data sources: rename connections and write table and column descriptions.
Examples:
- "Create a dashboard with our top five sales numbers for the marketing team."
- "Create a report summarizing last quarter's sales, in Arabic and English."
- "Define a metric called Net Revenue: total order amount minus refunds."
You control which of these areas the assistant may change in Capability toggles. Some actions always stay with you in the product: sharing, activating schedules, deleting items, and entering connection credentials.
