Reading the map

The map fills most of the Location Intelligence workspace. It opens on Riyadh and stays within Saudi Arabia. The area outside the Kingdom is shaded out.

The header

  • The back arrow returns you to the page you opened Location Intelligence from.
  • In the search box, type at least two characters of a neighborhood, address, landmark, or business, then pick a result. The map moves to the place and opens a site assessment for it. Results are limited to Saudi Arabia.
  • The sun or moon button switches between the light and dark theme. The map style switches with it.

Map settings

The bar at the top of the map shows three settings with their current values. Click one to change it.

  • Business type: Bookstore, Electronics, Home improvement, Retail & Fashion, Supermarket, Cafe, Restaurant, Pharmacy, Bank branch, or Gym & Fitness. It sets which competitors and which demand the analysis uses.
  • Travel time: Drive or Walk, for 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes. It sets the size of every catchment. See Catchment area analysis.
  • Map layers: shows how many layers are on. Click a layer to turn it on or off.

Map layers

  • Development & access: administrative and neighborhood boundaries, strategic projects, metro and bus lines, and planned development zones. Zoom in to street level to see parcel boundaries and land use. On by default.
  • Demand: districts shaded by a relative index of customer demand, from low to high. On by default. The shading fades as you zoom in to street level.
  • Customer ranges: the catchment of each of your branches at the current travel time.
  • Points of interest: places near the site you are assessing that draw visitors, such as schools, universities, clinics, malls, metro stations, and supermarkets. They appear after you assess a site.
  • Property prices: the average price per square metre in each district, in SAR, from public Ministry of Justice transactions.

Hover over a district to see its name with its demand level, or with its price when Property prices is on. When you are zoomed in on parcels, hovering over one shows its parcel number, area, and land use. Click it to assess that plot.

The legend

The Legend sits in the bottom left corner of the map. It always shows the Your store and Site being assessed markers. Other entries appear when the map shows them, for example competitors, expansion opportunities, development and access lines, catchments, the demand scale, and the price range in view.

The zoom buttons are in the bottom right corner. You can also scroll or pinch to zoom, and drag to move the map.

Clicking on the map

  • Your store marker: opens a card for that branch with a summary of its customer reviews, its peak hours when available, and Analyze this area, which opens a site assessment for the branch.
  • Site being assessed marker: saved sites use this marker too. Click one to open its assessment.
  • Numbered markers: in Find next, the five best-ranked districts carry their rank number. After a scan for opportunities, the scan results take their place. Click one to assess it.
  • Anywhere else: opens a site assessment for that point.

The Market section

When you open Market, the map shows businesses of your business type in the visible area. Zoomed out, they appear as shading that shows where businesses concentrate. Zoom in to neighborhood level to see each business, with the brand's logo when it belongs to a known chain. The work panel lists the same businesses. Click one in the list to move the map to it.

Market coverage is available for supported Saudi cities. Outside them, the panel says so.

On a phone

The four sections move to a bar along the bottom of the screen, and the search box sits under the header. Tap Plan in the header, or tap a section, to open the work panel as a sheet over the map.
