Slack integration

Connect your Slack workspace to Qubit so your team can ask questions about your data in Slack. The Qubit bot answers when someone mentions it in a channel or sends it a direct message. You manage the connection in the Integrations tab, under Customization in the workspace settings.

Connect Slack

  1. In the workspace settings, open Integrations.
  2. Click Connect to Slack. Slack's authorization page opens in a new browser tab.
  3. Choose your Slack workspace and approve the requested permissions. Depending on your Slack settings, a Slack admin may need to approve the app.
  4. Slack returns you to Qubit, which shows Slack connected successfully.

If Qubit shows Slack integration is not configured on this server., the Qubit environment you use has not been set up for Slack.

After you connect

Once Slack is connected, the tab shows the Slack Workspace name, the date under Connected since, and a Default Data Connection field.

To answer a question, the bot works with the workspace's data connections that the person asking is allowed to use.

Map Slack users to Qubit members

The bot answers only people whose Slack account is linked to a Qubit account in this workspace. It replies to anyone else with a message asking them to link their account. The questions run as the linked Qubit member, so that member's data access applies.

  1. Under User Mappings, click Add Mapping.
  2. Qubit lists the Slack users who are not mapped yet. When a Slack user's email matches a workspace member, Qubit preselects that member and marks the row auto-matched.
  3. Select the users to map, or click Select All.
  4. Check the Qubit User chosen for each row and change it if needed.
  5. Click the Add Mappings button, which shows how many mappings it will create.

To remove a mapping, click its delete button and confirm under Remove User Mapping.

Disconnect Slack

Click Disconnect and confirm. The bot stops responding in your Slack workspace.
