Qubit Docs العربية

Uploading files

Files on your computer do not need a connector. You upload them from the Data Catalog, and Qubit decides what to do with each one based on its type.

Supported file types

  • Spreadsheets: .csv, .xlsx, and .xls. Each file, or each Excel sheet you select, becomes a table you can query.
  • Documents: .pdf, .docx, and .txt. Qubit indexes the text so the Assistant can search it and cite the page it used. Scanned PDF pages are read with OCR in English and Arabic.

Each file can be up to 100 MB. Images, Markdown files, and older Word files (.doc) are not accepted.

How to upload

  1. Open Data Catalog from the sidebar.
  2. Click Add Data, then Upload a file.
  3. Drop one or more files into the upload area, or click it to browse.
  4. Check the suggested table or document name, and for Excel files choose the sheets to import.
  5. Click Add table, Add document, or Upload followed by the number of files.

Uploaded tables are ready to query when the upload finishes. Documents are processed first and show Ready in the list when the Assistant can use them. For the full steps, see Adding new data. For how documents are processed and shared, see Documents and files.

Files that arrive on a schedule

An uploaded file is a one-time copy. If the same export lands somewhere every day, connect that location instead so Qubit picks up new files on each sync:
