Browsing connections
Your connections appear in the Data Catalog list next to your uploaded tables and documents. To see only connections, choose Databases in the filter above the list. Choose Tables to see the tables created from uploaded CSV and Excel files.
Reading the list
Each row shows:
- Name: the name you gave the connection. Click it to open the connection's tables.
- Type: the source type, such as
postgresqlorstripe. - Status: Active or Inactive.
- Last sync: when the last sync finished, for example "2 hours ago". This column can also show Syncing..., Failed, Sync cancelled, Synced, no data received, Never, or Direct mode for a connection that is queried directly and never synced.
- Added: when the item was added.
Two more labels can appear in Last sync for Meta Ads connections, because Meta's authorization lasts about 60 days:
- Expires in N days: the provider's authorization ends soon. Syncing stops when it does.
- Reconnect needed: the authorization has expired and syncing has stopped. Data already synced stays in place.
To renew an authorization, open the row menu, choose Edit, and connect the account again.
Use the search box above the list to find an item by name.
Row actions
Open the menu at the end of a row to act on a connection:
- Test connection: checks that Qubit can still reach the source with the saved credentials. The result appears as a message at the bottom of the screen. If a test fails, the row shows a Test failed badge.
- Sync now: starts a sync immediately instead of waiting for the next scheduled one. This option does not appear for connections in direct mode, since they are always queried live.
- Explore database: opens the connection's tables. This does the same as clicking the name.
- Edit: reopens the connection form so you can rename the connection, update credentials, change the sync schedule, or reconnect an account. Secret fields stay empty; leave them blank to keep the current value.
- Delete: removes the connection after you confirm.
You can also select several rows with their checkboxes and delete them together.
Exploring tables and columns
When you open a connection, you see the list of its tables with the number of columns in each. Use Search tables and columns... to filter the list. Click a table to see its columns.
The table page shows each column's name and data type. From there you can:
- Add a description for the table and for each column, in English and in Arabic. Descriptions help the Assistant understand what the data means.
- Turn the AI switch off for a column to leave it out of AI analysis. Turn it back on at any time.
If a connection is still on its first sync, the page shows First sync in progress and the tables appear when the sync completes. Ad platforms can take a while on the first sync.
Messages you may see
- Connected, but no tables visible: the connection works, but the schema you entered has no tables the user can read. Edit the connection and check the schema name and the user's permissions.
- Some tables did not sync: the sync finished, but some tables could not be read. Check the database permissions for those tables, then sync again.
- Last sync failed: the most recent sync did not complete. Check the credentials and sync again.
- Sync finished with no data: the source returned no rows. Check that the account has data available with the current permissions. Data synced earlier is kept.
