Sharing a dashboard
To share a dashboard, open it, click the More actions menu, and choose Share. In the editor, click the share icon instead. The Share Dashboard window has two tabs: People and Link Sharing.
Sharing is managed by the person who created the dashboard and by anyone they give Editor access. Other people see a message that only the creator can manage sharing.
People
- Under Add People, enter an email address.
- Choose an access level: Viewer, Commenter, or Editor. People with Editor access can also manage the dashboard's sharing.
- Click Add.
Current Access lists everyone you have added. To remove someone, click the delete icon next to their name.
Link Sharing
A public link lets anyone who has it open the dashboard without signing in to Qubit.
- Open the Link Sharing tab.
- Click Generate Link. The link is created and copied to your clipboard.
Each link shows how many times it has been viewed and, if set, when it expires.
Password and expiration
After the first link exists, the Generate New Link section lets you create more links with extra protection:
- Password: visitors must enter it before the dashboard loads. Send it to them separately from the link.
- Expiration: the date and time after which the link stops working.
Click Generate Another Link to create it. The first link has no password or expiration. If you need every link protected, create a protected link and then revoke the first one.
People who open a public link see the dashboard in read-only form. They can refresh it and view it in fullscreen.
Revoking access
- To remove a person, open the People tab and click the delete icon next to their name.
- To turn off a public link, open the Link Sharing tab and click Revoke Link. The link stops working.
Embedding
To place a dashboard inside your own website or app, choose Embed from the More actions menu. The Embed Dashboard window walks you through three steps: Lock Filters, API Key, and Embed Code. Embedding is not included in every plan. When your plan does not include it, the menu item shows a lock. For the full setup, see the embed guide.
