Meta Ads
Connect a Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ad account by signing in with Facebook. Qubit syncs your campaigns, ad sets, ads, creatives, and daily performance.
Before you start
- Use a Facebook account that has access to the ad account, for example through your Meta Business portfolio.
- Allow pop-ups for Qubit in your browser. Facebook's sign-in opens in a new tab.
Connect Meta Ads
- Open Data Catalog from the sidebar, click Add Data, then choose Connect a database.
- On the New Data Source page, click Meta Ads. It is under Paid Marketing.
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Next to Meta Ads, click Connect. Sign in with Facebook in the new tab and approve access for Qubit. The tab closes when you are done.
- In Meta ad account, choose the ad account to sync. Each connection syncs one ad account.
- Set Sync performance data since. Qubit always syncs your full list of campaigns and ads. This date only sets how far back daily performance goes. It defaults to 30 days ago; earlier dates make the sync slower.
- Optional: under Performance breakdowns (optional), turn on the extra tables you need: Breakdown by age and gender, Breakdown by country, Breakdown by region, Breakdown by platform and device, or Breakdown by hour. Each one adds its own day-by-day sync, so each makes the sync slower. Breakdown by hour is the slowest.
- Choose a Sync Schedule. The default is Daily.
- Click Create.
After you connect
Qubit starts the first sync and takes you to the Data Catalog. Ad platforms report performance one day at a time, so the first sync can take a while. If you open the connection before it finishes, you see First sync in progress, and the tables appear when the sync completes.
After a sync completes, Qubit also adds the account's daily spend, impressions, clicks, and conversions to a shared connection named Marketing Performance. It combines all your connected ad platforms so you can compare them side by side.
Keeping the connection working
Meta's authorization lasts about 60 days. When it is close to expiring, the connection shows Expires in N days in the Data Catalog, and Reconnect needed once it has expired. To renew it, open the connection's menu, choose Edit, click Change account, and sign in again.
Troubleshooting
- If no ad accounts are offered after you sign in, the Facebook account has no access to an ad account. Ask an admin of your business portfolio to give it access, then connect again.
- If the sign-in tab closes before you finish, or your browser blocks it, allow pop-ups for Qubit and click Connect again.
