Creating a scheduled task with the assistant

A scheduled task is an automation made of steps in a visual builder. You can build one yourself, or describe what you want and have the assistant draft it.

Ask for a task

  1. Open the assistant and start a New conversation.
  2. Describe what should start the task, what it should do, and what should happen with the result.

Examples:

"Every Monday at 9 AM, check our weekly revenue metric and email [email protected] if it dropped more than 10% from the week before."

"Every morning, collect the prices from this competitor page and save them to a dataset."

The assistant drafts the steps and adds a card that says Scheduled Task Created. Click View Task to open it in the builder.

Review and activate it

The assistant saves the task as a Draft. Drafts don't run on their own, so nothing happens until you turn the task on:

  1. Open the task with View Task, or from the Scheduled Tasks page.
  2. Check each step. Click a step to see its settings, such as the schedule on the trigger or the recipients on a Send Alert step.
  3. Fix anything that's wrong, or ask the assistant to change a step while the task is still a draft.
  4. Set the status button at the top of the builder to Active and click Save.

The assistant can't activate a task, run it, or delete it. Those actions stay with you in the product.

After the task runs, check its runs with View History. See Setting a schedule and Execution history.
