Adding new data
You add data from the Data Catalog. Click Add Data at the top of the page. The Add data window offers two choices: Connect a database and Upload a file.
Connecting a source
Choose Connect a database to connect a database, warehouse, ad platform, store, or business app. Despite the name, this card leads to every connector Qubit offers.
- Click Add Data, then Connect a database. The New Data Source page opens.
- Filter by category (Databases, Paid Marketing, E-commerce & POS, Accounting, SaaS Apps, Cloud Storage) or use Search sources... to find the source.
- Click the source. A form opens.
- Enter a Connection Name, then fill in the fields for that source. Sources such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, or Salla ask you to click Connect and sign in to the provider instead of pasting credentials.
- Choose a Sync Schedule, then click Create.
Qubit checks what it can before saving, starts the first sync, and takes you back to the Data Catalog, where the new connection appears in the list.
Sources marked as coming soon open a notice instead of a form. See Planned integrations.
Uploading files
Choose Upload a file to add spreadsheets or documents. You can drop several files at once, up to 100 MB each.
- CSV and Excel files (
.csv,.xlsx,.xls) become tables you can query. - PDF, Word, and text files (
.pdf,.docx,.txt) become documents that the Assistant can search.
- Click Add Data, then Upload a file.
- Drop your files into the upload area, or click it to browse.
- Check the details Qubit shows for the files:
- For one spreadsheet, Qubit shows a preview of the first rows and suggests a Table name based on the file name. For an Excel file with several sheets, choose the sheets under Sheets to import. Each selected sheet becomes its own table.
- For one document, you can set a Document name (it defaults to the file name) and add a Description (English) and a Description (Arabic).
- For several files, Qubit names each one after its file name.
- Click the button at the bottom: Add table, Add document, or Upload followed by the number of files.
A table is ready to query as soon as the upload finishes. A document goes through processing first; its status in the list changes to Ready when the Assistant can use it. See Documents and files.
If you plan to upload a large file, note that your plan also limits the total number of data records in the workspace. Qubit shows a warning in the Add data window when you are close to that limit.
