Creating a dashboard with the assistant
You can describe a dashboard in a sentence or two and have the assistant build it from your connected data.
Ask for a dashboard
- Open the assistant and start a New conversation.
- Describe the dashboard: who it's for, which numbers it should show, and which data source to use if you have more than one.
Example:
"Create a dashboard for the leadership team showing monthly revenue, the number of active customers, and orders by region for this year."
If your request is unclear, the assistant may ask you a question first, such as which numbers to focus on.
Watch it build
The assistant plans the dashboard and then builds each chart. The conversation shows its progress, for example Planning the dashboard, Building charts, and how many charts are ready.
When it finishes, a card shows the dashboard's name and the number of charts. Click Open dashboard to see it. The dashboard is saved in Dashboards right away. There is no separate confirmation step.
If some charts can't be built, the progress shows how many. Ask the assistant to try again or adjust your request.
Refine the dashboard
Open the dashboard and open the assistant from there. Because the dashboard is open, the assistant edits it instead of creating a new one.
The assistant can:
- Rename the dashboard or change its description.
- Rename charts.
- Move charts, for example "Put the revenue chart first."
To change a chart's type, data, or filters, or to add a chart yourself, click Edit Dashboard in the dashboard's More actions menu. See Editing a dashboard.
