Agent instructions
The Agent instructions box in the workspace Agent tab holds the text the Assistant reads as your organization context. Qubit can generate it from your website, and owners and admins can edit it at any time. See Organization context for how to generate it.
What to write
Write it the way you would brief a new analyst on their first day. Useful content includes:
- What the company sells, and to whom.
- The main markets, regions, and currency.
- The names your team uses for things, for example "a branch is one store location" or "an order is one checkout".
- How your team reads key figures, for example "Revenue means net sales after refunds" or "Our fiscal year starts in April".
Keep it short and factual. The text applies to everyone in the workspace, so do not address one person or role. Click Save Changes when you are done.
Instructions and data access
The Assistant uses this text as context when it answers. It is not enforced as a rule, so check answers that depend on it.
If some data must stay hidden from some people, use data permissions and row restrictions for that. Qubit applies them to every query, including the queries the Assistant runs. See Access Control.
Workspace and personal instructions
Each person can also write their own instructions under Account Settings in the Agent tab. See Personal agent settings.
Qubit sends the Assistant both texts, labeled as organization context and user context. Neither one takes precedence automatically. Put company-wide facts here, and leave role-specific preferences, such as how much detail a person wants, to personal settings.
