Understanding AI responses
The assistant picks the format that fits your question. A single answer can combine several of the parts below.
Text explanations
Most answers start or end with a short written explanation of what the numbers show. For "why" questions, such as "Why did orders drop last week?", the assistant runs several queries and writes up what it found.
Charts
For trends, comparisons, and breakdowns, the assistant draws a chart in the conversation. Hover over the chart to see exact values.
Tables
For lists, such as "Show me our top 50 customers by lifetime value", the assistant returns a table. Click the Excel icon (Export) above the table to download it as an Excel file.
The query behind the answer
When an answer comes from a database query, the response can include a collapsed SQL Query section. Open it to see the exact query the assistant ran, and use the copy button to copy it.
Sources
When the assistant uses a document from your Data Catalog or a web page, it adds small source markers to the text. Hover over a web marker to see the pages it came from. Click a document marker to download that document.
Progress while it works
Longer requests take several steps. While the assistant works, the panel shows the steps it's taking. When it builds a dashboard, you can watch each chart get ready.
Results of an action
When you ask the assistant to create something, it does the work and adds a card to the conversation. There is no separate confirmation step, so make your request specific.
| You asked for | The card shows | Button |
|---|---|---|
| A dashboard | The dashboard's name and its number of charts | Open dashboard |
| A report | The report's title. The report is written in the background. | View Status |
| A metric | Semantic Metric Created | View Metric |
| A scheduled task | Scheduled Task Created | View Task |
If you don't like the result, ask the assistant to change it or edit it yourself.
