Capability toggles
Capability toggles decide where the assistant may create or edit things for you. They're personal settings: they apply to your assistant in every workspace you belong to, and they don't change what anyone else's assistant can do.
Open the settings
- Click Account at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Click Account Settings.
- Click Agent.
The toggles are in the section What the assistant can change.
The toggles
All toggles are on until you turn them off.
| Toggle | What the assistant can do when it's on |
|---|---|
| Dashboards | Create dashboards, update titles, and arrange charts. |
| Reports | Create reports, edit slide content, and reorder slides. |
| Metrics & semantic model | Define and update metrics, entities, and relationships using your connected tables. |
| Insights | Refresh findings and dismiss insights you no longer need. |
| Scheduled tasks | Build and update inactive scheduled tasks, and check their steps and configuration. |
| Data sources | Rename connections and update table and column descriptions. |
When you turn a toggle off, the assistant can no longer create or change anything in that area. It can still read and explain the data you have access to.
What always stays with you
Some actions are never available to the assistant, whatever your toggles say. You do these yourself in the product:
- Sharing dashboards and other items
- Activating schedules
- Deleting items
- Entering connection credentials
Permissions and plan limits
The toggles can only narrow what the assistant does. They never give it more access than you have:
- The assistant acts with your workspace role and data permissions. If your role doesn't allow you to create dashboards, the assistant can't create one for you either.
- Your workspace's plan limits still apply.
Workspace admins control access through roles and data permissions in the workspace settings. See Access control.
