Oracle Database
Connect an Oracle database so Qubit can copy its tables on a schedule.
Before you start
- Create a dedicated Oracle user for Qubit with
CREATE SESSIONandSELECTon the tables you want to use. - Note the host, the listener port, and the service name of the database.
- Make sure the listener port accepts connections from Qubit's servers.
Connect Oracle
- Open Data Catalog from the sidebar, click Add Data, then choose Connect a database.
- On the New Data Source page, click Oracle. It is under Databases.
- Enter a Connection Name.
- Fill in the connection details:
- Host: the database server's hostname or IP address.
- Port: defaults to
1521. - Service Name: the service name, for example
ORCLPDB1. - User and Password: the user you created.
- Choose a Sync Schedule. The default is Daily.
- Click Create.
After you connect
Qubit checks that the required fields are filled in, saves the connection, and starts the first sync. It confirms that it can reach the database during that sync.
To check the connection at any time, open its menu in the Data Catalog and choose Test connection. If Last sync shows Failed, hover over it to see the reason, correct the details with Edit, then choose Sync now.
Text and binary large-object columns (CLOB, BLOB) are copied as plain values.
